What’s an Angel Shot?

22 Jul

I’m probably late to the party here, but it can’t hurt to overspread the word. Consider this a public service announcement for all the single ladies. If you’re dating online, or just good ol’ fashioned dating, odds are you’ve been in an uncomfortable situation at least once.

Hopefully this messaging will find its way into every women’s bathroom in the city – and beyond. The sign below has all the details, but the gist is to order an Angel Shot if you’re on a date and need some assistance. An Angel Shot isn’t an actual drink, but a signal to the bartender that you need his/her help.

Whether you need an Uber or the police, or even if you sense someone else might be in trouble – this is a system worth trying to implement.

In a perfect world, we wouldn’t need an Angel Shot. But city life isn’t perfect and we’ve gotta take the good with the… assholes.

BIG SUNDAY! Lemonade on Larchmont

13 May

ALSF-logo-square1It’s Big Sunday again, which means I’ll be supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand with my peeps, as per the past few years. This year we’ll be parking our table on Larchmont Blvd. – in front of the former Pickett Fences and Crumbs locations.

  • Sunday, May 15th
  • 1:30 to 3:30ish
  • 214 N. Larchmont Blvd., LA 90004

Click HERE to learn more about Alex’s Lemonade Stand. 🙂

Come by if you’re in the ‘hood for some lemonade and a licorice straw. We are fancy like that. It’s also Farmer’s Market day on Larchmont, so you can make the rounds across the street for produce and flowers, too.

Not gonna be over that way? Buy a cup anywhere you see lemonade posts on Sunday – or any Sunday this month.  Big Sunday giveback efforts should be peeking around every corner, every Sunday, all month long.

Love Love LOVE this Bibi hoodie by Good hYOUman. Who could have anything but an awesome day while wearing this? Not even your mom!

If you aren’t familiar with Good hYOUman, check out the entire site. It’s a feel good, do good, inspiring LA-based company.

Act quickly if you want to order this particular hoodie though. There are only 75 shirts in total available. Yes, mom might receive it a little late… but it’ll be like her best day ever, so who could complain? Again, not even your mom.

Happy Mother’s Day weekend!

TODAY! Pouring for Alex in Venice

3 May

Alex

Today is Big Sunday! The City of Angels will be giving back and serving the greater good on every corner. A beautiful day in LA. And we will be doing our little in Venice by joining the nat’l fundraising movement to fight pediatric cancer: Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

Today, we’ll be following in the footsteps of a little girl named Alex who popped up her first lemonade stand at age 4. Lemonade stands will proudly serve as many cups as they can to continue her fight today. Read all about her HERE.

100% of every penny collected goes straight to Pediatric Cancer research. Plus, you might even get a licorice straw!

Fiore Floral Boutique | 1617 Abbot Kinney Blvd.  Venice, 90291
TODAY! Sunday, May 3rd.
1:30ish ’til 3:30ish

Come by, say Hi, and grab a cup or five.
