Sephora Opens at The Grove (!)

Woo hoo, I’m doing sassy high kicks! Sephora is celebrating its Grand Opening at The Grove today.

Yes, I actually do get excited for every one of their new stores… as with each Sephora comes a slightly different personalty that still maintains all the comfort of my favorite staple beauty products.

And when I see those seven shiny black letters on a storefront outside my normal stomping grounds [insert angels singing here], it’s even more comforting. Judge if you want, but Sephora really does feel like the Mother Ship sometimes.

Anyway, personal ramblings aside, The Grove location offers free (yes FREE!) beauty classes and has a special IQ Technology that helps you find your perfect foundation and lip shades. Also check out the back of the store for a new kind of skincare experience. Cough Lancer Skincare cough cough.

Dr. Lancer and his new Venus

22 Jan

-2You know when you’re having one of those “If money was no object…” fantasies and you start thinking about who you’d want as your personal stylist (Petra), personal trainer (Harley), personal chef (Undecided.)… and so on? Well, I’ve recently added to my list.

If I could have someone on-call daily to stand with me in the anti-aging battle and ensure my complexion was receiving the world’s best care (Not vanity… FAN-TA-SY!), I’d enlist the skill of Dr. Harold Lancer.

First off, his style isn’t to sugar coat anything. I appreciate that. I’ve met Dr. Lancer a few times and he is always quick to say what he recommends – and what’s a waste of time & money. Truthfully, I’m not often a fan of doctor-endorsed or namesake products. Much like some of the fashion houses that launch makeup lines, I find these can sometimes be simply pretty packaging.

While the Lancer products come in cool sleek containers, the superiority is truly in their formulas. If you’re going to invest in a dermatologist’s skincare line, definitely visit his office or go to Lancerskincare.com.

Among my favorites: The Lancer Method trio, Volume Enhancing Lip Serum (!!!), and Body Polish.

SOFIA LIKES IT!

If you are going to make an appointment at Dr. Lancer’s Beverly Hills office, make sure to ask about his latest treatment machine – Venus Viva. It’s the newest machine from Venus Concepts that (in simple terms) offers an alternative to injectables and invasive procedures.

The Viva isn’t offered anywhere else at this time. NOTE: Sofia Vergara’s over-40 fabulousness isn’t just in her genes. She’s a huge devotee of the original Venus Legacy machine for firming and shaping.

Personally, I’ve got my eye on the Viva for skin tightening, but here are some other benefits:

  • Ultimate solution for skin rejuvenation
  • Diminishes deep wrinkles, acne scars, large pores
  • Fades uneven texture, pigmentation, irregularities & stretch marks
  • Safe, non-invasive and effective with immediate and long-term results
  • Safe for all skin types

DOWN TIME

First, you’ll want numbing cream. But there’s minimal downtime and discomfort. Treatments can take less than 30 minutes, so you can appreciate the immediate and long-term benefits shortly after a treatment. Expect to do at least 3 sessions.

IN TECHY TERMS

Venus Viva operates with the new, revolutionary NanoFractional Radio Frequency and SmartScan technology that delivers superior results through selectional dermal heating process with minimal discomfort. The use of NanoFractional delivers energy through the epidermis, to the dermis, to generate heat and initiate skin change, rebuilding collagen and fibroblast stimulation, all resulting in tissue remodeling.
